Joan was an actor and dancer in many plays and revues, including 'Where's Charlie?' and 'Crimson Pirate' in Britain bt 1949 - 1957. She was described as being 5ft 2.5ins (159cm) in height, with green eyes and auburn hair according to her passport in 1957.
On 17 Aug 1992 her name legally was changed to Joan Boswell Gadsdon.
Joan Boswell Gadsdon died on 12 Oct 2003 in London at the age of 80 folowing severtal strokes over the preceeding months. She was cremated and her memorial plaque is at the Azalea Row, in the Garden Section of the General Cemetery in Lithgow, New South Wales.
