Leslie Allen Fairhall
      Leslie Allen Fairhall was born on 28 January 1899 in Branxton, New South Wales. He was baptised on 2 July 1899 at St John's Church of England in Branxton, New South Wales. Leslie Allen Fairhall was known by his family and friends as Allen. He was described as five feet ten inches in height, weighing 132 pounds, with dark complexion, grey eyes and brown hair when he completed his enlistment papers on 2 October 1917.

He began military service on 23 October 1917 at Army Training Centre in Menangle, New South Wales, and joined 12th Light Horse in the 34/14 Cavalry Regiment as a Trooper (Service No. 4202) under General Allenby. He sailed for Egypt on 19 Dec 1917 on board SS Ulysses, and arrived at Suez for disembarkation on 26 Jan 1918. He left a will on 4 December 1917 lodged with the Officer in Charge, Base Records, upon embarkation for Active Service Abroad.

Leslie Allen Fairhall died on 28 August 1918 at Jordan Valley in Gaza at the age of 19 and the cause of his death was recorded as fever (enteric.)
He was buried at Palestine 8, War Cemetery in Gaza (Memorial Panel 8) Grave area 22, Row C.5. His death was recorded on a monument on Panel 8 at the Wall of Remembrance, Australian War Memorial in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
