He emigrated with his parents, and the family settled in the Upper Manning River area, where his father found work with the Australian Agricultural Company.

Samuel Frost married Janet Elizabeth Macrae on 29 Dec 1863 at "Monkerai" in Port Stephens, New South Wales.
Samuel was recorded as the owner of a property, used for farming and cattle raising at 'Tiggerah Flat' in Tigrah, via Cundle, New South Wales, in 1870.
Samuel was recorded as having leased 10,420 acres (4,217 Ha) from the Australian Agricultural Company, for a period of ten years at a cost of ten pounds per annum at 'Tiggerah' cattle run in Tigrah, via Cundle, New South Wales, in Mar 1879.
Samuel was granted a further lease for seven years and was recorded as farming along both banks of the Manning River at 'Tiggerah' in Tigrah, via Cundle, New South Wales, in 1889.

Samuel Frost died on 3 Mar 1912 at 'Tiggerah', Cundle in Gloucester, New South Wales, at the age of 71 and was buried in the Tigrah Cemetery.
