Daniel Joseph Syron died on 9 Jan 1942 at the Macleay River District Hospital in Taree, New South Wales, at the age of 77.
He was buried on 10 Jan 1942 at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Dawson River in Taree, New South Wales, and the cause of his death was recorded as accidental, as a result of him being run over by a vehicle at Coopernook. An obituary for Daniel Joseph was published in the Wingham Chronicle and Manning River Observer on 20 Jan 1942. It read:
MR. DANIEL SYRON.
The death occurred in the M.R.D. Hospital on January 9 of Mr. Daniel Syron, aged 77 years, of Coralville.
The deceased was a native of Oxley Island and had lived all his life about the Manning.
The following family survive: Mrs. Robert Salter (Minimbah), Mrs. Hawkins, (Newcastle), Miss Annie Syron (Minimbah), Mrs Fairhall (Newcastle), Mrs. Howden (Newcastle), Mr. David John Syron (Newcastle), Mr Daniel Syron (Sydney). Mr. Robert
Syron (Minimbah) and Mr. Patrick Syron (Newcastle). Deceased daughters were Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Shelton (Newcastle).
The funeral left Mr. Bridge's chapel for the Dawson cemetery on Saturday, Rev. Father Carey conducting the service.

Susannah Clarke died on 13 Apr 1954 at the Wallamba War Memorial Hospital in Nabiac, New South Wales, at the age of 83 at the age of 86 years. The report in the Manning River Times of 28 April 1954 read: Late Mrs Syron's Many Descendants
The late Mrs Susan Syron, who passed away on April 13, aged 85 years, is survived by daughters Norah (Minimbah), Annie (Wallsend), Hope (Beralla), Kate (Islington) and sons Dave (Newcastle), Bob (Minimbah), Paddy (Sydney) and 97 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Two daughters and one son predeceased her.
She was buried on 15 Apr 1954 at the Church of England Cemetery in Forster, New South Wales.

He emigrated on 25 Feb 1840 from Port Macquarie, New South Wales, from Kingston Harbour (Co. Dublin, Ireland) on board the convict ship "Augusta Jessie", which carried 155 male prisoners, including 23 Junior Prisoners. Patrick Syron, age 15, was one of these, (Convict No.407518) and he had been sentenced to transportation for 7 years for stealing tobacco. It is recorded that junior convicts attended a school for an hour and a half each morning and afternoon. Bryan Coan was listed as a schoolmaster on the convict indents and it may have been he who conducted the school during the voyage. The ship landed in Sydney on 25 Feb 1840.
Patrick Syron was granted a Ticket of Leave, Ref: 45/2019, on the recommendation of the Police Magistrate at Port Macquarie. This was replaced by a Certificate of Freedom on 22 Oct 1846 (Ref. 46/989) in 1845.
Patrick was possibly granted land following the granting of his Certificate of Freedom at Oxley Island in Manning River District, New South Wales.
