Noel Victor Unicomb married Daphne Rhoda Cridland, daughter of Henry Charles Cridland and Frances Ethel Fairhall, in 1948 in Maitland West, New South Wales.
Noel Victor Unicomb died on 16 Jan 1996 at the District Hospital, 76 Brunswick Street in Maitland, New South Wales, at the age of 71 and his death was reported as follows: "Mr Unicomb, 71 was one of the city's most prominent citizens: a former Mayor who served on the Council and who gave tirelesly to public life for four decades. (Mayor For six Years 1972-1978) He died from cancer after being ill for several months. Noel Unicomb was made a Freeman of the city in August last year and awarded an Order of Australia Medal in 1990.(only some of this man's achievements).
His public life included service on the regions largest utility, Shortland Electricity, and its
predecessor, Shortland County Council, as well as numerous community associations in his neighbourhood at Largs and in the villages north of Maitland.
His long and distinguished local government service ended only four months ago, when he
was too ill to contest the Council elections . He continued to follow civic affairs until a few weeks ago.
Mr Unicomb lived with his wife, Daphne, and family, on his farm, Golden Grove, at Largs.
He is survived by his widow and by his children, Victor, Rhonda and Darren, and six grand children."
He was buried at the Anglican Cemetery (Grave location recorded as: Section AA, Plot 3) in Morpeth, New South Wales.
